He fixes Bryanas hair, he foils Jordans fake illness and he boosts Vanessas confidence. Vanessa barricades herself in the bathroom, having the worst hair day ever Bernie being Bernie fortunately finds away around all the problems. Jordan fakes being sick and actually forces himself to puke on Bernies second favorite shirt. While trying to braid Bryanas hair, he gets hair grease all over his favorite shirt. With Wanda at work, Bernie is forced to figure everything out for himself. On the first day however, everything that can go wrong, does. He enrolls Bryana in a prestigious preschool, Jordan in Catholic school and Vanessa in public junior high. With the kids officially under Bernies control, its come time to find them schooling.
They think he took it back to the pound, so they try and get revenge. Bernie finds the dog, hides it, thinking it is the perfect present for the kisd. The kids get a dog from the pound, thinking it will be the perfect present for Bernie. Wanda complains that Bernie is treating the kids like roomates and holds off sex from him until he realizes the kids are truly part of their family. Later on, the Bishop and Deacon show up at Bernies house during his poker night and suggest that Bernie allow them to use his house for bible study.īernie realizes that the kids are here to stay, so he begins treating them differently. When Wanda plans a play date for a group of kids, Bernie ends up winning over the moms for the afternoon and becoming defensive about his masculinity.īernie and Wanda bring the kids to church to discipline them, but Bernie ends up being the immature one. Jordan is tormented by bullies at school, so Bernie teaches him some moves that unfortunately turn Jordan into a monster. This closes part two of the two-part episode.In the pilot, much to his chagrin, Bernie and Wanda are forced to take care of his sisters three children, Vanessa, Jordan, and Bryanna since she can no longer take care of them anymore.īernies desperate to get away to Vegas with his frineds, but Bryanas birthday and the germ infested children that it causes make it a difficulty. Then, he finds that his Uncle Ellister was his real father (meaning the person, about whom Bernie was talking, was actually his step-father). While on the plane, Bernie upgrades himself to first class along with Wanda and the kids. The next day Bernie and his family leave, Mama Liva gives Bernie Ellister's old tackle box before taking a group picture. However, Vanessa already has lost hope and wants to go back home to California. Eventually, Bernie says that if she wants to see Stacy anytime, she can. However, Big Mama bashed him with a frying pan before he went far and got Bernie's money back. This prompts Bernie to tell a story about how his "father" showed up to his birthday late and stole $15 from Bernie. She also begins crying to the point where her mom never shows up. When Vanessa gets in the car with Bernie, she is even more heartbroken than before. Eventually, she calls Bernie and he agrees to pick her up. By night time, Vanessa realizes that her mom will never show up once again. Unfortunately for Vanessa, she never shows up overtime. Then, Stacy calls a now heartbroken Vanessa and agrees to meet her at a place where they used to get Chili Dogs. Unfortunately, she ends up getting beat up by her former friends and having her shoes (which were forcibly taken off by one of her friends) tossed around the block. Along the way, she meets up with her former friends at a rec center.

Meanwhile, Vanessa goes out in full search for her mom, so she reconnect with her. While exploring the city, Bernie begins doing the things he likes to do instead of what his family wants (such as eating a Chicago Hot Dog, visiting Bernie's old club, which they all leave immediately due to Jordan picking up a very inappropriate phrase, and Bryana having diarrhea). Meanwhile, Vanessa insists on seeing her mother again and has a run in with the girls from the old neighborhood.īernie recaps the story to America how everything went the past episode.
